I’ve written two series, which are available as e-books and paperbacks. Each book can also be enjoyed as a standalone novel, although I like to re-introduce characters from previous books and weave plot arcs across each series in a cascade of choices and consequences.

Thomas Bladen Spy Thrillers

Can a good man hold the line without crossing it?

Not all spies are suave and sophisticated. Take Thomas Bladen – he’s smart and sardonic, but rough around the edges. Ideal for the Surveillance Support Unit, working at the arse-end of British Intelligence in East London.

Thomas has managed to keep his life in different boxes for the past couple of years. As far as friends and family are concerned, he’s a humble civil servant. But the SSU loans its surveillance teams out to any government department that needs them, including intelligence agencies and law enforcement.

Then there’s Miranda Wright and her family… The Wrights have a complicated relationship with the law and Thomas has a challenging one with Miranda – ever since they met in his native Yorkshire and he brought her home to London.

When your business is other people’s secrets, it’s only a matter of time before someone takes an interest in your own. As Thomas learns, you can’t stay in the shadows forever.

  • Compelling reading

Wonderfully written, ironic humour, the families and friends are all amazing characters, but what can I say about Thomas! The detail in this character is absorbing and complex, his intentions are good – yet don’t always work out well. Karl is larger than life and a great mentor and friend – thoroughly enjoyed each book in its own right.

DS Craig Wild Crime Mysteries

Old habits die hard. And so do the people of Mayberry.

Detective Sergeant Craig Wild lives for the job. Mostly. But he does cut corners and some lapses in judgement can’t be swept under the carpet, even if your ex-wife is a DCI.

When DS Wild is forced to swap London and The Met for Mayberry, a sleepy Wiltshire backwater, he soon discovers that life in the countryside can be murder.

Although DI Marsh is willing to give him a second chance, the rest of the team see him as an incomer, about as welcome as a vegan at a barbecue. The exception is PC Marnie Olsen, who can see something in him the others seem to have missed. Which is just as well because, when they put their differences aside, they make a formidable team.

  • Wild

DS Wild is a refreshing surprise dare I say a cross between Bosch and Dalziel, I loved Reginald Hill and miss his humour, I think I may have discovered a worthy replacement so….definitely would like more of Craig Wild please.

LONG SHADOWS, WEST COUNTRY MURDER, and DEATH IN WILTSHIRE

Books 1 and 2 available as a box set and all six books available individually.

Into the Void

An e-book collection of published and unpublished short fiction, brought together for the first time. These stories are the survivors from my notebooks over the years. Some featured in anthologies or magazines, while others languished in drawers and waited for an opportunity. Expect a range of genres and occasionally some adult themes.

You’ll find fiction from several genres here: magical realism, crime, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary fiction (apparently). The stories contain humour, sex, longing, violence, death, and touches of the supernatural. So, something for everyone.
